Company-Wide Drill Highlights Commitment to Safety
On the morning of June 27, 2025, at 8:00 AM, CAMEI ELE&STATIONERY Co., Ltd. conducted a large-scale fire drill on the 1st-floor playground. The exercise aimed not only to raise fire safety awareness but also to improve emergency response capabilities across all departments. As part of the company’s adherence to ISO 45001 occupational health and safety standards, this was the third drill of the year—underscoring CAMEI’s proactive approach to workplace risk prevention. All employees responded swiftly and seriously, reflecting their strong sense of responsibility.
Pre-Drill Training Builds Knowledge and Confidence
Before the evacuation began, the company’s safety supervisor delivered a comprehensive training session. Using real-world industrial fire cases, he emphasized the critical importance of fire prevention. In addition, the session covered specific risks within bag manufacturing, including storage of flammable materials and electrical equipment hazards.
Moreover, employees received detailed instruction on fire extinguisher use for Class A, B, and C fires. Through a combination of visual aids and live demonstrations, staff were taught the “pull, aim, squeeze, sweep” technique. Meanwhile, the use of training masks simulated smoke conditions, showing how to safely evacuate while covering the nose and mouth. Employees actively engaged, asking scenario-based questions that further enriched the training session.
Coordinated Evacuation Demonstrates Emergency Readiness
As soon as the alarm sounded, the evacuation began. Employees from all departments—including cutting, sewing, and quality control—exited quickly using color-coded routes designed to minimize congestion. Supervisors and team leaders ensured smooth flow and full headcounts at designated assembly points.
Notably, the packaging department stood out for its well-coordinated effort, assisting colleagues with mobility needs without delaying the evacuation. As a result, the entire drill was completed in just 3 minutes, demonstrating strong familiarity with procedures and a high level of execution.
Hands-On Extinguisher Practice Reinforces Response Skills
Following the evacuation, staff participated in live fire extinguisher training at three simulated fire points: a waste bin fire, an oil pan fire, and an electrical equipment fire. Employees from all levels—from production line workers to office personnel—took turns practicing under the guidance of senior firefighters.
“I’ve always read about fire safety, but using a real extinguisher was a game-changer,” noted Lily Zhang from the design team. Indeed, this hands-on experience greatly boosted employee confidence and preparedness for real emergencies.
Digital Safety Training and Future Plans
The success of this drill reflects CAMEI’s leadership commitment to workplace safety. Looking ahead, the company plans to launch a digital safety platform next quarter. This initiative will include VR-based simulations to deliver immersive emergency training experiences.
“Safety is not just a protocol but a corporate culture,” the safety manager emphasized in his post-drill briefing. Therefore, regular drills and training remain essential to CAMEI’s zero-accident vision.
CAMEI’s Ongoing Safety Mission
In the future, CAMEI will continue improving its fire safety systems, optimizing emergency plans, and enhancing staff preparedness. With every drill and every innovation, CAMEI strengthens its foundation for stable business operations and employee well-being—building toward a safer and stronger future.
